Shelby Scott, Boston News Anchor and AFTRA Leader Who Championed SAG Merger, Dies at 86

Shelby Scott, the longtime Boston Television news anchor and former AFTRA chief who pushed for the union’s 2012 merger with SAG, died June 1 at her property in Tucson, Ariz. She was 86.

Scott was a beloved news anchor for CBS’ WBZ-Tv set Boston for 30 decades. She served as nationwide president of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists from 1993 to 2001.
