Last week we took to Instagram and asked which recipe you all would like to see from our lineup of tropical favourites. The winner was these Teriyaki Chicken Burgers! Honestly, I am not too surprised. This is such a fun and flavourful recipe that pairs really well with some homemade pickled red onions and spicy mayo.
This recipe is just one of the thousands we have to offer on Fraîche Table! The homemade teriyaki sauce in this recipe is exceptional, but store-bought will work just fine of course. Make this recipe plant-based by substituting in your favourite veggie patty as pictured below or make your own veggie burger patty.

Fraîche Table Teriyaki Chicken Burgers
Teriyaki Chicken Burgers

Ingredients
For the Teriyaki Sauce

water -

cup
low sodium soy sauce -

cornstarch -

teaspoons
grated ginger -
2
garlic cloves
minced -

brown sugar -

teaspoons
rice vinegar -

teaspoon
sesame oil
For the Burgers

boneless skinless chicken breasts*
butterflied - Teriyaki Sauce

pineapple rings -
1/2
cup
thinly sliced red onion -

lettuce leaves -
1/4
cup
mayonnaise -

hamburger buns, cut in half
Instructions

Whisk together the water, low sodium soy sauce, cornstarch, ginger, garlic, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and sesame oil in a small pot. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Cook 1-2 minutes until the mixture has thickened slightly. Remove from the heat and set aside.

Grill the chicken until it has reached an internal temperature of 165 F, brushing the chicken with the Teriyaki sauce in the last couple of minutes of cooking. Grill the pineapple and buns if desired. Alternatively, preheat the oven to 425 F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the chicken on the baking sheet and bake 15-20 minutes until it has reached an internal temperature of 165 F.

When the chicken is fully cooked, brush with the remaining teriyaki sauce. Assemble the burgers with mayonnaise on the buns, top with the chicken, pineapple, red onion, and lettuce before serving.
